Lithium Battery Winding Machine
Background
Used in the production of lithium batteries, the lithium battery winding machine is primarily used to wind the positive electrode sheet, negative electrode sheet, and separator film together. A separator film isolates adjacent positive and negative electrode sheets to prevent short circuits. After winding, the core is fixed with end-sealing tape to prevent unwinding, and then transferred to the next process.
The Challenge
The winding machine needed a solution that was compatible with a maximum outer diameter of Φ900 mm @6-inch roll and could deliver the required cutting size space accuracy of ≤0.3 mm and cutting speed of ≥90 m/min. The customer was looking for technology that delivered speed and consistency without compromising the accuracy required for production of lithium batteries.
The Benefits
FLEXEMATiC provides the customer with smooth operation without lag even in large-scale, complex applications via the high performance of the FP916R smart touchscreen, which has 7W+ variables and 600+ pages. The chosen solution delivers object view functionality so that 500+ cylinder control and other component screens within the project can automatically generate and bind batch addresses, avoiding repetitive work. In addition, optimized and upgraded functional components of the HMI, such as alarm, operation log, and recipe, assist in efficient on-site production. Based on B/S architecture, the FLEXEMATiC HMI offers a range of capabilities beyond those of traditional touchscreens, including support for multi-terminal access, enabling multi-person collaborative debugging via tablets, resolving the long-standing difficulty of inconvenient debugging in equipment production lines
The Solution
The chosen solution utilizes the latest generation FP916R smart touchscreen, connecting to the southbound PLC via tag communication. The FLEXEMATiC HMI connects tablets, smartphones, etc. to the router's LAN to facilitate remote access for multi-person collaborative debugging and other operations.
