The Challenge
The customer is an OEM looking for ways to enhance the performance of its square bottom valve pocket bag making machine with improvements to motion control. The equipment has a production speed of ≥40 bags/minute, a bag switching speed of ≤30 minutes and an error range of ±1%.
The Benefits
The chosen FLEXEMATiC solution shortens bag switching time to 10 minutes, a significant reduction in switching time compared with traditional equipment, which could sometimes take hours for the same task. Automation is enhanced and manual intervention costs reduced by the availability of customizable solutions, significantly improving efficiency. The combination of the FLEXEMATiC IoT HMI and FWay Remote Module enables remote debugging of equipment to save considerable time on debugging and modification. Additionally, the FLEXEMATiC technology provides a cost advantage over competitors, reducing equipment costs.
The Solution
This solution utilizes the FL8-E16-D controller along with FR-D1600 and FR-D0016N expansion modules. Additionally, it utilizes 44 units of FV5-U3 series rotary servos and EAM series rotary motors, with the maximum power motor rated at 2.3 kW and the remaining at 750 W and 400 W. The FLEXEMATiC FS610R IoT touchscreen supports IoT functionality. Remote debugging is achieved through the FWay2 IoT module.
